Grano

Terms of service

The agreement between your mill and KAIN Labs for using Grano.

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms are between KAIN Labs, Chennai, India ("we") and the business that signs up for Grano ("you", the mill). The person who signs up confirms they can bind that business. By using Grano you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

The service

Grano is online software for running a rice mill: purchase, lots, milling, stock, sales, accounts, reports, portals and integrations. Which features you get depends on your plan and add-ons. We add and improve features over time; if we ever remove a feature you pay for, we will tell you in advance.

Trial

A new mill gets a free trial for the period shown at signup. At the end of the trial you choose a plan, or the account becomes read-only. Your data stays available to view and export.

Plans, billing and GST

  • Prices are listed on the website and in Settings → Billing, in Indian rupees, plus GST.
  • Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance. Paid fees are not refunded for part periods, unless the law requires it.
  • If an invoice stays unpaid after the grace period, the account becomes read-only until it is paid. We do not delete data for late payment.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. The change applies from your next billing period.

Your data

Everything your mill enters belongs to your mill. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Grano to you. You can export your books, masters and reports at any time, including to Tally.

You are responsible for what you enter and for having the right to enter it – including the phone numbers of the farmers, buyers and staff you add, and for their consent to the WhatsApp and SMS messages you send them through Grano.

Accounts and access

The mill owner controls who has access and with which role. Keep phones and sign-in codes private. Tell us at once if you think someone has used your account without permission. Actions taken from a signed-in account are treated as the mill's.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Grano for anything unlawful, including fake invoices, GST fraud or hiding transactions from the authorities.
  • Do not send spam or messages people have not agreed to receive.
  • Do not try to access another mill's data, test our security without written permission, or overload the service.
  • Do not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the software.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Tax, GST and accounting

Grano calculates and prepares GST returns, TDS, PF and ESI files, e-invoice data and accounting reports from what you enter. Filing stays with you: you upload or file on the government portals, and you or your accountant are responsible for checking what is filed. Grano is a tool, not tax, legal or accounting advice.

Integrations

Connections to Tally, WhatsApp, SMS, payment, e-invoice, Zoho, Shopify and other third-party services depend on those services and their terms. We are not responsible for their outages or changes, but we will work to keep the connections running.

Availability and support

We work to keep Grano available at all times and back it up regularly. There may be planned maintenance and occasional faults. Uptime and response-time commitments are given only in a written Enterprise agreement. Support is by WhatsApp and in the app.

Liability

Grano is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost business or penalties arising from figures you did not check, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Grano at any time; the subscription ends at the end of the paid period. We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or at once for a serious breach of these terms. After the account closes you have 90 days to export your data, after which it is deleted as set out in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell mill owners in the app at least 15 days before a material change takes effect; continuing to use Grano after that means you accept it.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to settle any dispute by talking. If that fails, the courts at Chennai have jurisdiction.
